The Pekin Housing Authority has an experienced maintenance staff available to maintain the properties. The maintenance staff receives training to remain knowledgeable and skilled in appropriate areas. 24-hour service is available for emergencies by calling (309) 346-5921.
Emergency repair requests requiring the attention of Housing Authority personnel include broken water pipes, failure of heating equipment when weather is below 45 degrees Fahrenheit temperature, electrical problems within the apartment, failure of Housing Authority-owned air conditioning units during periods of extreme heat, sewer line stoppage, including stopped up toilets (not plugged up sink drains), failure of smoke detectors or carbon monoxide detectors (if it is the only detector in the apartment), and lock-outs, particularly during extreme weather conditions.
Requests for non-emergency repairs (work orders) may be called in to the Housing Authority during regular office hours or left on the answering machine at (309) 346-7996.
